Bear Brook State Park

What you need to know: 
The park, located at 157 Deerfield Road, is open weekends only through June 14, daily from June 19 through Aug. 24 and Labor Day weekend. Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for children ages 6 to 12. Children 5 and younger and New Hampshire residents 65 and older are admitted for free. Leashed pets are permitted in the campground on the trails only, not in the day-use area. Flyfishing enthusiasts will be happy to know that Archery Pond welcomes the specialty sport and is universally accessible. The park also boasts two archery ranges and a 1 1/4 -mile, 20-station fitness course that is suitable for the whole family, plus biking, boating, hiking, picnicking, camping and swimming. Canoe rentals also are available.
