The Fells

The former summer estate of secretary of state John Hay, the Fells, at 456 Route 103A in Newbury, has a garden for every taste. June 17 through Labor Day, visitors can tour the 22-room farmhouse-turned-mansion, which was visited by such notables as Rudyard Kipling and President Theodore Roosevelt. Admission is $8-$3.
